Description:

Eltroxin 25 mcg contains Thyroxine Sodium (Levothyroxine), a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone T4, used to treat hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). It helps regulate metabolism, energy production, and other essential body functions. It is also used in goiter management, post-thyroidectomy hormone replacement, and thyroid cancer therapy.

Uses:

Eltroxin 25 mcg is prescribed for:

✔ Mild Hypothyroidism (Underactive Thyroid) – Replenishes thyroid hormone levels
✔ Goiter Management – Helps reduce thyroid gland swelling
✔ Thyroid Cancer Therapy – Used as hormone replacement after thyroid surgery
✔ Prevention of Myxedema Coma – A severe form of hypothyroidism

Dosage & Administration:

• Usual Adult Dose: 25 mcg to 200 mcg once daily, depending on thyroid hormone levels.

• Recommended Dose: 25 mcg once daily, taken in the morning on an empty stomach (at least 30-60 minutes before breakfast).

• Route of Administration: Oral – Swallow whole with water.

• Missed Dose: Take as soon as remembered unless it is close to the next dose—do not double dose.
