Description

Lamivir 150 mg contains Lamivudine, an NRTI (Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor) used to treat HIV-1 infection and chronic hepatitis B (HBV) infection. It works by blocking the reverse transcriptase enzyme, preventing the virus from multiplying and helping to lower the viral load in the blood. Lamivudine is typically used in combination with other antiretroviral drugs for HIV treatment.

Uses:

Lamivir 150 mg is prescribed for:

✔ HIV-1 Infection Treatment – Used as part of combination antiretroviral therapy (ART)
✔ Chronic Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) Treatment – Helps control HBV infection
✔ Slows Disease Progression & Improves Immune Function

Dosage & Administration:

• For HIV Treatment: 150 mg twice daily OR 300 mg once daily, in combination with other antiretrovirals.

• For Hepatitis B Treatment: 100 mg once daily (as per doctor’s prescription).

• Route of Administration: Oral – Swallow whole with or without food.

• Missed Dose: Take as soon as remembered unless it is close to the next dose—do not double dose.
