Description

Omnacortil 20 mg contains Prednisolone, a corticosteroid used to reduce inflammation and suppress the immune system. It is commonly prescribed for conditions involving severe inflammation, allergies, and autoimmune disorders.

Uses

• Allergic Conditions – Asthma, severe skin allergies, anaphylaxis

• Autoimmune Diseases – Rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

• Respiratory Disorders – COPD, bronchial asthma, croup

• Endocrine Disorders – Adrenal insufficiency, congenital adrenal hyperplasia

• Cancer Therapy – Leukemia, lymphoma, supportive care in chemotherapy

• Organ Transplantation – Prevention of organ rejection

Dosage & Administration

• Usual Dose: 20 mg once daily, or as prescribed by a doctor

• Take with food to reduce stomach irritation

• Dosage must be tapered gradually if used for a long duration to prevent withdrawal symptoms

• Common: Weight gain, mood swings, increased appetite, indigestion, insomnia

• Serious: Osteoporosis, high blood sugar, high blood pressure, weakened immune function, adrenal insufficiency
