Description

Valclovir 1000 mg contains Valacyclovir, an antiviral medication used to treat infections caused by the herpes virus family, including herpes simplex (HSV), varicella-zoster (chickenpox & shingles), and cytomegalovirus (CMV) in immunocompromised patients. It works by converting into Acyclovir in the body, blocking viral replication and reducing symptoms.

Uses

• Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV-1 & HSV-2): Treatment and suppression of genital herpes & cold sores.

• Herpes Zoster (Shingles): Reduces pain and healing time.

• Varicella (Chickenpox): Effective in reducing symptoms in children and adults.

• Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Prevention: In transplant patients.

Dosage & Administration

• Genital Herpes Treatment: 1000 mg twice daily for 10 days (first outbreak).

• Genital Herpes Suppression: 1000 mg once daily (for frequent outbreaks).

• Shingles (Herpes Zoster): 1000 mg three times daily for 7 days.

• Cold Sores: 2000 mg every 12 hours for 1 day.

• CMV Prevention (Post-Transplant): 2000 mg four times daily.

• Take with or without food and drink plenty of water.
