Description:

Paraxin 250 mg contains Chloramphenicol, a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, preventing bacterial growth and spread. Due to potential side effects, it is typically prescribed for severe infections when other antibiotics are not suitable.

Uses:

Paraxin 250 mg is prescribed for the treatment of:

✔ Typhoid fever and other Salmonella infections
✔ Bacterial meningitis
✔ Severe respiratory infections (Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Empyema)
✔ Rickettsial infections (Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Q fever)
✔ Anaerobic bacterial infections
✔ Eye infections (as an ophthalmic preparation, if prescribed by a doctor)

Dosage & Administration:

• Adults & Children (above 12 years): 250–500 mg every 6 hours, or as prescribed by a doctor.

• Severe Infections: Higher doses may be required, adjusted by a healthcare professional.

• Route of Administration: Oral – Take with a full glass of water, with or without food.

• Do not crush or chew the capsule/tablet; swallow it whole.
