Description:
Rifagut 200 mg contains Rifaximin, a broad-spectrum rifamycin antibiotic primarily used for treating bacterial infections within the gastrointestinal tract. Since Rifaximin is minimally absorbed into the bloodstream, it mainly acts in the intestines, making it effective for gut-related infections.
Uses:
Rifagut 200 mg is prescribed for the treatment of:
✔ Traveler’s Diarrhea – Caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli).
✔ Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea (IBS-D) – Helps manage bloating, diarrhea, and discomfort.
✔ Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) – Reduces bacterial overgrowth in the intestines.
✔ Diverticular Disease – Helps in managing bacterial infections in the colon.
✔ Bowel Infections – Used for specific bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal tract.
Dosage & Administration:

Traveler’s Diarrhea: 200 mg three times daily for 3 days

IBS-D & SIBO: 200 mg two to three times daily for 10–14 days (as prescribed).
