Description:

Telgard 40 mg contains Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications. It works by relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily, which helps lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack.

Uses:

Telgard 40 mg is prescribed for:

✔ Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – Helps control blood pressure and prevent complications.
✔ Cardiovascular Risk Reduction – Reduces the risk of stroke, heart attack, and other heart-related issues.
✔ Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) – Helps protect kidney function in diabetic and hypertensive patients.
✔ Heart Failure (Adjunct Therapy) – Used in combination with other heart medications.

Dosage & Administration:

• Usual Adult Dose: 40 mg once daily, with or without food.

• Severe Hypertension: May be increased to 80 mg once daily, as prescribed by a doctor.

• Route of Administration: Oral – Take at the same time each day for best results.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet; swallow it whole with water.
