Description:

Tenvir EM is a fixed-dose combination antiretroviral (ARV) medication used for the treatment and prevention of HIV-1 infection. It contains Tenofovir and Emtricitabine, both classified as NRTIs, which work by inhibiting the HIV reverse transcriptase enzyme, preventing the virus from replicating in the body.

Uses:

Tenvir EM is prescribed for:

✔ HIV-1 Infection Treatment – Used in combination with other antiretroviral drugs for managing Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
✔ Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) – Used to prevent HIV infection in high-risk individuals, when taken daily as prescribed.

Dosage & Administration:

• HIV Treatment (ART): One tablet once daily, taken with or without food.

• HIV Prevention (PrEP): One tablet once daily, preferably at the same time each day.

• Route of Administration: Oral – Swallow whole with water.

• Missed Dose: Take as soon as possible, but do not double dose.
